NarcissUS: The Nuklear Interview Comment Thread

Postby injektilo on Mon Aug 31, 2009 5:56 am

You may have just read the first edition of NarcissUS: The Nuklear Interview and wondered why you couldn't comment. Weird, huh? Well in order to keep things nice and tidy and to have a lasting collection of all the interviews, we have decided to lock the thread and instead give you this lovely thread.

As this thread is dedicated to the interviews, please try to keep it on topic and relevant to any of the interviews. Please don't be surprised if any off topic chatter is moved to an existing or new thread. Hopefully it will serve as a nice collection of all the interesting things you noticed in the interviews. Feel free to ask the people who have been interviewed any further questions, you might just learn a little more about them.

So without further ado, comment away!

A zamboni machine is that riding machine they use to smooths the ice in an ice rink.

Like, this afternoon, when i was all busy and shiz, I thought this was a stupid proposition. Then I sat down and read the whole thing tonight, and I did a 180. Nice job Lecky and Tilo. I want a Manex interview, ASAP. Thank you for your consideration.

I like this idea. When's it my turn?

I have no questions for G8keeper at this time. Truthfully, I skimmed over it for the most part. Perhaps I'll read it later this evening when I'm bitching about being bored.

But I don't wanna wait!

Just kidding. Take your time. Please. And besides, I do believe G8 asked for GG. Where IS he, anyway?

Yes, and GG has accepted. So, who gets to do the interview after that is up to him (well, and them, as they have the option of declining). You could always bribe someone who is being interviewed to pick you. ;)

Why, I'm dominating the world from behind the scenes. Bwuhaha.

Thanks for the nod G8Keeper.

Great interview.

Just for kicks, I went and looked at the player pics site. +1 on a Hagor interview! Remind me not to try breaking into any RVs parked anywhere between Palm Springs and Phoenix! :D

This is an interesting thread but I just now got around to it. It seems like a long time between interviews...

Not sure I like the idea of repeating the same questions every time, but overall a good job of it.

And Grievous thinks boxing is gay? What is that all about? :ehh?: Is it because they don't jab each other with knives and fight to the death?
I mean, I'm not a boxing fanatic but I like watching a good fight every now and then.

Tillyho! had wanted to do one interview a week. I, however, told him that it wasn't going to happen. Here is my reasoning: 1) We don't have THAT many active forum members, so we'd burn through it pretty quickly, and this allows it to drag out for a much longer time; 2) I have to contact the next chosen interviewee and find out if they're willing to oblige the request before we can even post the interview nominating them; 3) I then have to give the person enough time (everyone gets about a week and a half) to answer the interview, and people have lives and only have so much free time, so I like to give them more than enough time since they're being kind enough to do the interview in the first place.

Well, we had toyed with the idea of changing up questions, but that's...a lot of time and effort that, frankly, neither he nor I have. We'd exhaust our creativity really quickly, and soon someone would be stuck with questions like, "Which ocean is your favorite?" It would get random, and I really didn't think it would be fair to the people who weren't being interviewed early on. Plus, this way, you can compare and contrast everyone's answers, and I think that's fun.

Also, I don't get why he thinks boxing is gay either. Wrestling creeps me out, but boxing? Eh, not so much. Perhaps because they're not physically wrangling or straddling one another, and wearing gloves so one isn't caressing another individual's sweaty, half-naked body helps too. It seems to decrease the creepy factor.

Well... Maybe I'm getting old and conservative, but that Hagor interview was one of the most moving things I have read in a long time. Especially the Vietnam question. Man, I have never been in a war, but that response made me understand a little what it is like to be in one. I know it is hard for war veterans to share with ordinary folks, the shit they went through, but I got a little touched by that.

I'm not suggesting that war is the best way to solve problems, but when I read stuff like that, I have a little compassion for the people who got involved in conflicts between nations. Thank you for your service Hagor, And I don't mean it in a patriotic way, I just mean it in a compassionate way. Cheers!
