Nah, the place needs new Pedantic blood. I welcome people like Bobaloo, He'll likely be gone in a few years but someone will come along to replace him. The real challenge is to become the forum's next Dazhbog!

lol. Perhaps in this issue at least.

I like FB. I think we just disagree on this itty-bitty little issue. While I don't think his tenure comment bears any weight, it's entertaining to volley with someone about things that really just don't matter much. If everyone can separate the passion from one thread to the next, then everyone will get along fine. Just like our apple thread. It's entertaining to go back and forth in there... but if any tension carries beyond that thread, well, then that defeats the whole purpose. Okay. I'm rambling and I don't even know what I'm saying now. I'll shut up.

Not sure what will happen in the years to come. But for now I like it here. Most forums I participate in I've been a part for years. Sure, my participation goes in cycles just like anyone else's, but this really is just our Internet persona here. We all have real lives, you know.

Yeah, but it's work I'm interested in doing, so there's that. ;)

I find this statement funny; mostly because of the phrases "right away" and "every time".

lol. I knew you would say something about that. But I've found that since i've been here you've responded pretty quickly to concerns that required your attention. From reading, it even seems that a long time ago realm resets would take forever, but now they seem rather prompt.

that's not to say that the fruition of game change ideas is as timely, of course.

We are not all just a bunch of CLONES ya' know. We are not here to just silently obey the powers that be or to accept just because we are told to accept.
Why do you have to force people into groups? Why do you single out 3 people? Are you trying to imply that they are trolls? :ehh?:
Do you think this is how we get our kicks at the expense of the moderators - by going around contesting every decision without even having a valid perspective on it?

I mean, c'mon, really inkjet? REALLY? SFB spouts off on a topic without any conviction in his opinions? HELLO! Have you read SFB's posts???
WHERE DO YOU GET OFF dismissing our constructive input like this? :rasp:
Maybe people in Australia will put up with this S#i& - but this is G@& D@M# AMERICA and we take pride in our free and open society!

i am so tired of all the @#$%^# B*LL@h*t from the moderators here! ::dasha::
It is clear that the only opinion you are interested in hearing is your own reverberating echo, and could care less about the community that you supposedly serve!
Well that's just fine with me, this is the last post you will ever receive from me I can't take it anymore... ::banghead::

I am quitting and deleting my account as soon as I post this message and you will never have to worry about another post "complaining" about your totalitarian ways...
This community used to be great, but now it is a shell of what it once was because of all the #%@$#%@!!!.
YOU are destroying the very community you purport to serve and that, my friend, is the REAL travesty.

Contractors? Also, I have taken up, with some reluctance and trepidation, this passing fad you all call paragraphing. Also, since being there and back again, most of my posts are not quite as long as some of the epic posts from the Ghost of Dazhbog past. On the other hand, I'm still me. Had a laugh coming across this. Would have opposed not being able to edit posts, had I been paying attention. But I can see both sides. I'm not exactly passionate about it. I only just discovered it today, though.

Re: Editing posts

Postby Ugly Duckling on Thu Apr 25, 2013 8:50 pm

I came to realize a long time ago that editing posts presented some concerns. For example, my biggest concern was when an entire post was deleted...usually a very important post by way of its controversy and as a result the rest of the topic suffered. Sometimes when a post was deleted by its author it made entire threads pointless and unintelligible. This is the accountability that TMO or SirFB mentioned. That bothers me and I'll tell you why. I had a lot of experience in the ABUSE department. One might say I abused editing to a degree. (maybe if only to do obvious edits like spell checks) Granted, I probably edited whole posts, parts of posts, added to posts, etc. etc.

This editing isn't really the source of abuse. Abuse arises from the abuser, the forum user. That being said, for these reasons I agree on the accountability part, but I don't see editing as a form of abuse. As already mentioned, the instances in which this "abuse" may arise is probably pretty rare. Not only is it rare, but it is arbitrary and somewhat subjective to 'police' or outright ban. These are just my opinions. I don't care really whaaatz youze duuuuze. ::hrmph::
