Round 51

Postby Jessrond on Thu Dec 13, 2012 3:38 am

For the few of us that could barely fill a classroom.

Todd WALKER reporting for duty and expecting a 10th place finish.

You overachievers! :D

Happy hunting! :)!

Gotta admit, I'm rather confused about the duel-killing "fodder" currently playing.

A horse is a horse of course of course...

I was fortunate to pick up a horse two days ago late in the game. No luck with horse kills either that day or yesterday. Today I had visions of dancing a DK jig because hey, the third time is a charm..am I right? Nope. Not today at least.

I never got to present my offering to the dragon. After avoiding traps and pitfalls with the horse intact through the barrage of usual suspect, death crystal-packing villains, I make it down to my last ff. The last ff with a horse in hand. The very ff you should maybe just call it a day and pass, but lo and behold, Kal Torak comes by and wants one last go. Well my track record against Kal had been stellar, with me sustaining little if any damage at all in fights today, so yeah, I took him up on it. I hit him 3 times and then he pulled the damned death crystal on me! ::violin::
And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

The horse thing didn't work so well, for a first time try. DK dead X 3, then FF kill. via Death Crystal. Crap. I'm sticking with honorable 1000000k and pixie luck. As usual.....

Victory or 'Death.

The day after my horse was vaporized, Seth hooked me up with a right-on-time bank double. Was able to get the job done fairly easy with 100M/40M HOTT (overkill, maybe? but ya never know!)

We need more players in RED... there's little opportunity for kills to progress the game.

It's been extremely sedate on the duel kill front also. I don't think I've killed anyone...yet. Of course, I've died in online duels though.

I still say the lack of players in green/red has absolutely everything to do with the warning that the "advanced players" should start here on the menu prompts when you start a new round. For the very new players who wouldn't otherwise know any better, this little warning can be frightening, I'm sure. But, I'm alone in that regard. Also, it probably would be a royal pain to moderate fifty newer players who decided that 10/10 is necessary on level 5 or 6. So...I keep my mouth shut. :whistles:

Also, I scared away Soppis from Red - but that wasn't a duel kill. It was one of those disconnects that afflict only UglyDuckling and Maverick. The disease had spread to Soppis. ::hrmph:: :silence: He transferred to blue immediately. (I am glad he stuck around.)

Maybe time to allow people to play in both realms?

Back when I used to play LORD in the 90s, there was a program that put fake players in the game. (NPCs) They were fully functional, did forest fights, and even gave lays. they couldn't "cheat", as the NPCs were only allowed to do the same things real human players could do in the game. I don't know if admins or even other players in LORD would like/allow this, but it would add more "players" in the game. Just a thought... I did a search for the program but I couldn't seem to find it. Maybe someone else has heard of this before?

*edit* I seem to have found a link for it on the LordLegacy page. http://lord.lordlegacy.com/downloads/index.php?cat=11&s=120&text= The program is called NPCLord.

Hmm.. worth thinking. But I would like the multirealm better :)

I really suck in this game BTW. Had a fairy in level 1. Didn't get 3k gold before I wanted to beat Halder so I figured out that I will beat him with 200/200 and a fairy. Well, I didn't. Even bank robbery in level 1 would have been a better idea to get the 3k gold and then beat Halder. Well, I guess I shouldn't be complaining as I did get the DK without the fairy dying. (With 10/10, HOTT, LS, MH, 5T)

Dumb is as dumb does, but that was a good experiment.......even if it resulted in complete failure. You saved us time, money, and a planning scheme. You da man.

On the bright personal side, yesterday I made level 12 for 5 minutes.....long enough to grab a pixie. (S)
4/4, LS, 4 T, Pixie burn, 4 P, DK, lvl 1, no 3K w/109 exp. Got a room to save the gems.
Still shooting for #10 and failing miserably.

Redefining Sux,
Hap

This was my best kill ever. Thankful for no flames. ::ninja:: (4/1, LS, 5T, fairy, 3P)

(Also, I suppose, the video serves as a preview for falknhayn's LORDBOT -- look at the win % go up as the fight progresses.) ::oneeye::
