While wandering through the forest, some monsters may kill you unexpectedly. I usually carry very little gold with me, healing myself after every forest fight and banking the gold immediately. However, I feel like I might be losing opportunities to gamble on the dark cloak tavern.
Of course, having a horse makes this a no-issue. You may withdraw your gold in the bank, go to the tavern, gamble to your heart's desire, bank the gold and fight away your FFs.
But how much gold would be sensible to carry around while in the forest, in the expectation of a dark cloak tavern event? I've started to bank the gold every 3 FFs, is that sensible?
(Of course, that depends on the likelihood of being killed in the forest. Let's think about a 1m/1m lvl 12 forest, where only some monsters can kill you on one move, but you normally can run away)
